If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice
View Organizer Website

Please join us for a webinar about representing young people in judicial bypass cases. Thirty-seven states require young people either to involve a parent in their abortion decision-making or apply to a court for permission to obtain abortion care without involving a parent. The judicial bypass process is onerous, invasive, and can feel demeaning to many. As lawyers, it is our responsibility to support the young people we represent in these cases, respect their bodily autonomy, and trust their decisions. We will provide a brief overview of parental involvement laws and judicial bypass across the country, examine this work through a reproductive justice lens, and offer tips for supporting young people and working with clinics and advocates in judicial bypass cases.

Speakers: Christine Castro, Women’s Law Project; Tristina Fitzpatrick, Allentown Women’s Center, Jessica Goldberg, If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice
